WGES Clinic
My name is Nurse Dawn Dunbar and I am the nurse at WGES. I am here to clean and bandage wounds, dispense medication to be given during school hours, assist the teachers in teaching health topics, monitor for illnesses in the school, and much more.
In order to take care of your child I need to know if your child has the following: Asthma Allergies (food, medicine, insect, environmental) Seizures, or any other medical condition that could affect their school day. Under no circumstance should any medication be brought to school by a student. All medication must be brought to school by a parent and given directly to the school nurse.
Here's a little more about me...
I have been a pediatric nurse for 17 years. I worked in PACU for 13 years, Sedation services for a year and a half, and my most recent position was Clinical Educator for almost 2 years. I have my CPN (Certified Pediatric Nurse) certification. I have always worked at CHOA, so this transition will take some adjusting to, but I know it is going to be a great one! Elementary aged kids are my favorite and I am looking forward to getting to know all of the students and families. I am a native of Loganville. I am very close to my family. I have been married for almost 9 years and I have 2 children...Anna Grace, who is starting kindergarten and Gavin, who is going into second grade. My children are my everything and I'm really looking forward to being on their schedule. I am looking forward to this school year.
You may contact me by calling the school at 770-784-0046 or by emailing me using the link below. Remember that I am here to help!
